Situated at an altitude of almost 1000 metres, on the southern mountainside of the Tozal de Asba.
The houses are distributed across three neighbourhoods, called the Castillo, Medio and Bajo.
Tradition says that the mother of Saints Nunilo and Alodia was born in the Medio neighbourhood. Here you will the current parish church (17th to 18th century), which is dedicated to these Saints.
Betorz's surroundings are well-worth a quiet and peaceful visit. Highlights include the dry-stone huts, the vast oak forests which cover the slopes of Monte Asba (Asba Mountain) and itineraries through the old roads, used long ago to connect the surrounding villages.
