Found outside the city centre, in the neighbourhood of San Juan, the ice well monument was constructed in the 17th century, and has been restored and opened to the public. The output of this monument was fundamental to the local population until the beginning of the 20th century.
It has two exhibition spaces that show several perspectives on the ice throughout the centuries: the form it was obtained, its usefulness, the social and economic importance, and oddities.
During the visit you will see the interior of the spectacular ice well, where the work utensils are exhibited, as well as a recreation of a snow storage space. Through the audio recording soundtrack you find out about the everyday lives of those who worked in ice production.
